Weird show for her to be on, its a political affairs show.

Maybe not so wierd. I think her new songs, Let England Shake and The Last Living Rose seemed to have a political angle
to them.

yes thanks for this ----worth getting up for,
how polly is in interviews reminded me of mark linkous saying
'“I never really told anyone that I can be an entertainer,” he says, modestly. “I still don’t think I’m very good. I have musician friends like Wayne Coyne (of the Flaming Lips) and Polly (PJ) Harvey, and it’s like they have a switch. For a while I just hung out with Polly, and I had never seen her perform. Then I saw her and it scared me! I had known her as this polite, proper British girl, and she turned into this rock and roll animal.”

Linkous chuckles. “That’d be nice to just flip a switch like that.”
(from Sparklehorse's Linkous says it's lonely being a one-man band

Thanks for that excellent quote, CLBella.

Polly interview/performance will be available to view for anyone in Britain - unfortunately, the BBC iPlayer is unavailable to anyone outside Britain - here soon; sometime today, I think...

She had one of her autoharps with her. She said around half of the songs on the new album were written using autoharp. I think Andrew Marr is a Captain Beefheart fan too!

They 'touched' on politics. She very often thinks protest songs involve too much preaching.

She thought the new album is 'looking out' more than her previous work that usually confronts the inner self...something like that.

She was wearing a sort of black feather boa.
