there could be a rather less intriguing explanation to this "his", assuming jesuspolly to be a speaker of the spanish language (as I remember being informed, on some previous occasion, that jesuspolly lives in Mexico - please correct me if I'm wrong). the phrase "PJ Harvey starts recording his next album" would make perfect sense if conceived in spanish, in which the pronoun "his" is required by reference not to the person PJ Harvey but to the grammatical gender of the noun "album" being masculine.

thus no need to indulge in any fantasies about Polly coming out as a transsexual.

though she's been shape-shifting herself in sheer musical terms, from time to time, and I'm eagerly expecting her next embodiment.
