Wiggins is so superbly unassuming, he looks like he's about to say 'Pop the gold medal in the post, I'm nipping out for some biscuits'

PJ Harvey @ the State Theatre: Everyone in the room was, understandably, transfixed by the black-garbed Polly Jean Harvey. However, the State Theatre shows last week, which already look likely to rank among the best of the year, owed as much to the three men tucked behind her. Drummer Jean-Marc Butty and the guitar-keyboards-playing duo John Parish and Mick Harvey were subtle when necessary, added their voices to her keening sound and, led by the thump of Butty's floor toms, rolled over the ground like a remorseless tank.
