I was listening to one of Billy Childish's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Childish) audiobooks of poetry the other day (Poems of a Backwater Visionary: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/poems-backwater-visionary/id269273770). The poem "Thumb Print" contains the following lines: And I see you kissing in other people's arms / In cheap bars, oblivious / Loving only your own pain.
In The Falling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJwlugPzRDU), Polly sings: I see you kissing in other peoples arms / See you kissing in cheap bars / How to walk and where to run / How to walk and where to run / I see you kissing oblivious / Loving only your pain. It's a near direct rip. I know she's namedropped him once or twice in interviews saying she admires his work.

Re: "The Falling" (b-side) and Billy Childish
Thanks for posting this. I'm always interested to see what material she draws ideas from for her songs. It is not at all uncommon for her to take lines from other works verbatim and use them in her songs, but I find that the way she presents them adds entirely new dimensions to their meaning.
I quite like Billy Childish, but haven't gotten around to reading/hearing any of his poetry. Your post has got me curious to find some of it!

That's really interesting, I also want to know does anyone know the chords to "The Falling?" I want to cover it at an open mic some day soon.
