Hi. Let England Shake really has me by the throat, and I've been playing many of the songs - thanks mostly to chords posted here! I've tried to figure out England on my own, and am getting thrown off by the bridge/coda.
For the first part of the song, I'm playing basically Am D G D.
Am D G D Am D
Am D G D Am D
Am D G D
I live and die through England
Am D
Through England
Am
It leaves a sadness
D G D Am D
Remedies never were within my reach
Am D G
I cannot go on as I am
D Am D
A withered vine reaching from the country
Am D G
That I love
D Am
England
D
You leave a taste
A bitter one
?????
I have searched for your springs
But people, they stagnate with time
Like water, like air
To you, England, I cling
Undaunted, never failing love for you
England
I had a rough transcription saved somewhere but I'm almost certain there's a capo on the 8th fret. Dm, Am, C/G or some of the chords... I'll tab it out fully in a few days, if you can wait that long.

It sounds right, but she doesn't really hit a "B" in the last part, according to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbReim77Yfw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think it's a B7. It also sounds right if you strum all the strings
Have been picking up the guitar for about 6 months or so and you lot have really helpful, cos you probably know it all seems crazy at the start and every little bit helps.....
Just found this video and its really helping me understand, not just the chords, so I thought I'd make it my first post here in Your Beautiful Pen. Hope it might help someone else.
The whole world seems to be steered towards economic gains being the only goal of worth ~ Polly Jean Harvey
I think this is great. These chords have a great touch to it which makes me want to compose my own music and also write a separate lyrics. I have tried the same chord with so many lyrics it works amazingly better than the original.
