Polly's singing the line, "What if I take my problem to the United Nations" sounds so similar to "I'm gonna take my problem to the United Nations" from Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues". She even sings the words, United Nations, like Cochran did...putting the emphasis on the "U" of United Nations. I would think she did this on purpose.

Polly already talked about that in a recent interview.

Hmm yeah, I'm somewhat with you there. Don't get me wrong, I love the footage of PJ, I love how it cuts to her playing live and then back to the song, I don't think the visualette does anything for the song. But I think that's largely because it's such a strange sort of surrealistic song, the footage doesn't really match the atmosphere created in my opinion..though it aligns with the lyrical themes. But I'm sure Seamus did the best he could. I hope the film clip is at least exciting. Also, is it just me of is this different to the radio edit? It somehow seems bassier but quieter (could just be my earphones) and the tempo seems a bit slower.

Please stop calling it a visuallette.

Re: video for Last Living Rose
Does anybody know where the museum scene in beginning and end is taken?
- maybe you're just supposed to know, being a genuine Brit... (which I, sadly, cannot boast :tear: )

6music apparently played The Glorious Land an hour ago. Wonder if they'll play it again.

If I'm not mistaken the ballroom dancers are dancing in the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Aaaaah that killed me for good.... My heart almost stopped even though I was expecting it!

(I know I said no more previews and leaks but it was too hard to resist!)

It's probably been mentioned elsewhere, but I just noticed Polly plays the sax on Last Living Rose. Is this the first time she's ever played the sax in one of her songs? I'm excited by the idea of her playing it onstage.

^ Hard to say, but if she did it was a long, long time ago. ;)

She hasn't played the sax with the band, "PJ Harvey," I think she may have with Automatic Dlamini? So long ago this might as well be a first.

The wait for this album is simply agonising. It may not have been so bad had I only heard one or two, but with almost half the albvum heard I just need_all_of_it. :(

AWESOME!
Everytime when I log to this board, and there's three new pages in "what we know so far" thread, I know there is something new to feast your ears/eyes on. Thank you very much for the video. This is my favorite song of them all, can't stop singing it at home :)
