Yesterday I came across a live performance of Tori Amos on french TV M6... It was interesting to watch, although I don't relate to her music so much, but I can see why she's often brought up in comparison with PJ. I was shocked that there were so many fangirls (and boys?) screaming between the songs... at least we don't have that kind of hysteria at Polly's concerts...

^^ in a similar vein, I've been on a huuuge kate bush kick lately and i see some definitely similarities between her and pj. the dislike of interviews, exploration of new instruments, and this one is kind of silly but i still noticed, but when kate sings there's this massive voice that comes out of her and you think "how does that come out of someone so small?" when she speaks, she has a really soft quiet voice. this big voice-quiet speech thing goes for polly too. there were other similarities i thought of but i can't remember now

Neil Young, Le Noise.

You can listen to the whole thing here through Oct 5:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... 8#playlist

Produced by Daniel Lanois.

"Young described to the Chicago Tribune how Lanois made that guitar sound by saying, "It sounded like God.""

Listen to Walk With Me and Angry World. That's ONE guitar doing all that. I want to hear Polly play THAT guitar.

Edit: If you thought PJ fans were obsessive, Neil Young fans take it to another level! Check this out:

The first two clips I saw of The Jim Jones Revue. Old songs.
Once the first clip started I knew I liked them a lot!

Hello megique. Thanks for that clip.

Yes!

I've really got 'into' Warpaint over the last couple of days. Is it me or does Theresa Wayman look a bit like Juanita Stein?!

Guess who I'm seeing next Friday?...Their name begins with War and ends in paint. :-) Their new album is released here next Monday.

Love this song and video:

'Stars'

And a pretty good version of Bowie's 'Ashes to Ashes':
