In conjunction with the praising comments about the sound quality of the show from Geoff Barrows of Portishead (I may have butchered his name), I'm wondering if there is a primarily acoustical correcting element to the geometric design of the background. It reminds me of some acoustical tiles I've seen. Some combination of absorption and diffusion, for example.head's_bullet wrote:^ Does anyone know if that panel behind them is part of the stage art for the tour or is Bikini's interior design?
A rehearsal in London, May, either is wrong info or she is bringing that colossus with her all around, interesting I would say as her stage is often so "bleak"

You might be right, and I don't know anything about acoustics, but I just wanted to say what this thing is starting to rise up during the 2nd song ("The Ministry Of Defence"), and usually folds back in during "River Anacostia", after which they sometimes doing encore (I haven't seen any videos of encore from the first two shows, so we couldn't be sure if the backdrop is gone or not). I mean, it would be a bit strange if they wouldn't care about acoustics during the first song or the encore.Yes_No_Maybe_So wrote:...I'm wondering if there is a primarily acoustical correcting element to the geometric design of the background. Moving from venue to venue, there's not too much an artist can do to improve the acoustics, but the stage background is the one thing you probably could exert some control over if you're willing and financially able to give it some proper attention. <...>
