A write up of the weekend. Needless to say demand for tickets was high!

“When you lose the intimacy, you’ve lost a lot of the point of the festival,” Guinness observed. “Intimacy is what appeals to people.” Guinness revealed what PJ Harvey had told her after Harvey’s public interview with Anne Enright. In that interview, Harvey had spoken about being stuck; that she had not been able to work for some time. “Polly told me that being here had changed that ‘being stuck’ for her,” Guinness recounted. “That she feels she can now go away, and start working again.

“If the festival achieves nothing else, it has achieved that.”

Ooh that's good. Hearing that she said she was stuck was pretty disheartening so I'm glad that this was able to help her with that. Can't wait for a new album.
That said, I think I'm almost more intrigued by this art/poetry book she mentioned more than anything right now.

HI Guys. Was down at Borris House last Sunday. I brought my recorder with me just to get reaction from people after the talk.

the result is a ten minute VOXPOP which includes some well-known Irish writers, artists and musicians. There's also a rather insightful accordion player in the piece too and a little bit of music from a certain dark haired lass.

If you're in south Dublin you can catch it on 93.9FM or if you go to the web www.dublinsouthfm.ie.

The piece will be on sometime between 5.20pm and 6pm.

Hope all is well.

Hold on! David Gilmour was there too?!

Listening to the audio report actually made me feel a bit emotional, after 20 plus years of loving and respecting Polly, to hear such lovely comments and tributes from writers, artists and musicians.
