So I got a spiffy PJ tattoo...

Post by KickInside »

I registered for the forum quite some time ago but I've never posted because forums always make me feel so awkward. I figured this was a good excuse to finally pipe up and say something though.
Well, this past Thursday I went and got the birds from the Let England Shake disc tattooed on my foot. PJ and her music mean the world to me and I love them more than I can even put to words, so I really wanted to come up with a tattoo for her. I'd had lots of ideas in the past that I liked at first, but then became unsure about. I was absolutely blown away by LES when it came out though, every time I listen to it I love it a little more, and I really really like the fact that she drew the birds herself. The birds just seemed perfect.
Anyhow, I'm talking way too much. Here's a picture. It was taken right when it was finished though, so it looks very red and messy. I can share another picture when it's healed if people want me to.

I feel like I should maybe say something else, since this is my first post, but I really don't know what. I'm the top listener for PJ out of everyone ever on last.fm. That's something...

At any rate, does anyone else have any PJ-inspired tattoos or anything? I find such things very interesting and I'd love to see them.

Sorry for being such a dork. Hello.

That is a great tattoo, I love it. :) It will be even more Beautiful when its healed (so we must see what it looks like then). I have always had a big affinity with Crows and even cared and looked after them, so I was stunned with all the imagery (stage and short films as well!) that has accompanied Let England Shake in addition to the inspirational words and music. Its all just a great work of Art and the most beautiful natural thing too.

Sweet tattoo! I would love to see it after it's healed.

By the way, why did you choose your foot as the location for the tatt?

Oh and welcome. No need to be shy. :)

Thanks so much everyone. Since the general consensus is that people want to see it healed, I'll post another picture in a week or so (assuming I haven't been scared off by then, haha). It should be about done healing by then.
I'm not entirely sure why I got it on my foot, really. I guess I just like how foot tattoos look. I have a bird tattoo on my other foot inspired by a Kate Bush song (my favorite singer after PJ), so I suppose I thought it would be nice to have my feet dedicated to my favorite singers. Something like that.

You’re welcome kickinside!!! Your tattoo design is cool, but the color is not so good. It will be great if you use the light colors in it.

It looked darker because it was brand new there. It's lightened up now and it looks much better.
As promised, here's a picture of it healed (the lighting/angle is terrible and my feet look freakishly fat - sorry about that, I'm a HORRIBLE photographer).

Oooh and look whose legs/hands are on the wall behind me
So far I've done a terrible job at getting myself integrated at your lovely forum here, but my computer was broken for two weeks so I'm going to blame that. Sooner or later I'll just jump in somewhere, I'm sure.
Yep.

Ha Ha, I'd worry more about that pile if CDs rather than freaky feet

I had a feeling someone was going to point that out!
Well right above those is a big stack of all of PJ's albums/singles, plus various other CDs that aren't quite as embarrassing as those. I listen to a lot of music so that results in some CDs that I'm slightly less than proud of.

At least there's no Nick Cave to be seen! - Sorry. I had to. :green:

Thanks for the update KickInside. Are those the only tattoo's you have?

^ Ah, the key words there are to be seen. I actually really like Nick Cave, although I've noticed a lot of people here don't. Oops.

Anyhow, I have "om mani padme hum" (a Buddhist mantra that roughly translates to "the jewel of the lotus resides within") on the back of my neck in Sanskrit too.
