Next tuesday (July 12), ARTE TV will broadcast PJ's Olympia concert of this year (probably the one from Feb. 23).

I'll record it but I have no easy way to transfer it digitally to the computer... if someone can, please do!

Thanks for the reminder.

This week ZDFkultur is broadcasting highlights from the Roskilde festival. I hope we'll see a few songs from PJ as well.

don't you find it strange that they broadcast something like this at such a strange hour (in the middle of the night) when many people aren't allowed to play music at a decent volume (because of the neighbors)? and the rebroadcast (2nd August) will be at 03:35, freaking weird!

Actually it's quite normal here that concerts are broadcast in the middle of the night. Most people who were interested recorded it anyway.

The concert is available at http://videos.arte.tv/de/videos#/tv/coverflow///1/100/

Btw: The Words that Maketh Murder is such a brilliant song when played life. Really powerful.

If I'm not wrong, Arte always broadcasts concerts very late, I think that's because of the low audience that they make.
Here in France, "serious" music never makes much audience, only concerts from commercial artists do make audience.
Arte is, as you can see in the name of it, a channel about global art. It's an amazing channel and they always broadcast good stuff. I'm glad they broadcasted PJ Harvey's concert, I loved it. :)

Unfortunatly they didn't show the whole concert, e.g. there were no White Chalk songs.

Here's the setlist:

Let England Shake
The Words That Maketh Murder
All&Everyone
The Guns Called Me...
Written On The Forehead
In The Dark Places
The River
Sky Lit Up
The Glorious Land
The Last Living Rose
England
Bitter Branches
Down By The Water
C'Mon Billy
Hanging In The Wire
On Battleship Hill
Big Exit
The Colour Of Earth

so apparently there is some producer (or person responsible for Arte's programming) who really hates the White Chalk album. ot at least this would be a logical thing to assume. (I actually laughed when writing this, but it was not a cheerful laugh like this icon here, rather my laughter was bitterly sarcastic. - it just angers me when they edit things out and don't show the whole thing, whether it's a concert or a movie or whatever; abbreviated books are just as bad, not allowing the work to be seen in the full splendor of its completeness.)

I've watched it now and I do declare, what a great interview, wow!
but more songs were missing (than those White Chalks items): Meet Ze Monsta and Angelene (oh Angelene!)
so it appears that they made several cuts there, not only removing those songs but also eliminating pauses between songs, and faking an encore by inserting the interview before the last two songs in the pre-encore set. well that's a producer's privilege, I suppose, but I detest it still. however, that interview was stunningly superb.

more than that, in spite of all the cuts and editing, you can see Pollyphoniac standing in the crowd.
