As long as she does live appearances, I'll support everything she does.

I love "White Chalk" era shows, but that's too minimalistic even for me.

I just want her to pick up the guitar and play "Rid of Me" - I don't like it when rock-stars go "artsy".

Another snippet of a video - "Chain of Keys" (most likely, from the first night): https://instagram.com/p/8sjV5JCbD_/.

Btw. Did anyone know what was the little outburst from somewhere back right I think when Seamus was on his last discussion part about DC? I initially thought it was stage background but then realised it was behind. Think I heard Chicago mentioned but didn't catch any more than that.

I couldn't work out what she was saying but she sounded American and they were discussing America. But yeah no idea but she was saying.

There are some stains on the drum, so it won't be perfect anyway:

The medicinals clip sounds great.

More guitars, more minor chords, "big, swaggering blues beast with Harvey on electric guitar, radiating the sort of malevolent energy not heard since 2009’s A Woman a Man Walked By".

This is good news.

Yeah, I think the fears that this will be like les are shown to be untrue. The music sounds bluesy, a littl country, 60s rock.

and thanks for correcting my mistake!
this also explains why I suddenly thought "wow, was it that good?" believing it was "Ministry of Social Affairs" (because I didn't really think that highly of it when I heard that whole song).

This concept is garbage. Sorry, but she's losing it. I guess I'll wait for the full album/tour to accurately assess how I feel about this whole thing, but it has vapid War Tourism written all over it. Privileged white lady of the West bearing her MBE gazing upon the people affected by violent conflict and using them like raw material to... what end, exactly?

There was one Guardian commenter present at the shows who mentioned that Seamus dodged a question about photographic consent for his subjects. That kind of avoidance is proof-positive of what a slippery ethical affair this whole thing is.

At a purely sonic level, the songs sound like an amalgam of TBYML and Stories... not exactly exciting new musical ground but maybe the album will differ.
