I love the Francois Jacob paintings! Thanks for the wallpaper shadow, I think that will be the new one at work. Been looking at the WC cover for a couple of years, time for a change. More than one person asked if it was a picture of my wife

Well, those are not actually "handmade" fan arts, but since I've lost about a half of my last film on them... Taken with soviet SLR camera, Zenit EM <3 . Developed and scanned.

Oh look, I made a fanart...

Post by checkered »

I posted this on a fanart thread but then realized no one was really looking anymore.

Made this for Printmaking class. Just made the prints today. The actual plate and prints were made during two class periods. Kind of last minute and not what I was hoping for. I planned on using certain techniques, ended up using others... really wish I'd given myself more time to do this... like at the beginning of the term, instead of, you know, the last two days of class. I don't know why I do this kind of stuff to myself.

I merged this into the existing fan art topic, it's my job. But let me help out a little by fixing the link. :)

Oh crud. I'm kind of embarrassed now. I originally posted this here, and then thought it was better to post a new thread for it, when actually, it was better etiquette to post it in this thread like I originally did.

Anyway, I hope this link works:

I dunno.

Naah, please don't worry about it. I don't think I'd done that particular operation and it gave me a chance to learn how. ;)

This is just about the nicest forum I've ever been on.

It ended up being mostly carved directly into copper, and then printed. The feathers were made using the impression of actual feathers, a technique called softground. The impression of the feathers wasn't clear enough, so I ended up making the feathers more clear by hand.

I made about 3 or 4 prints of it.

Zombie Jean Harvey

I made this based on the WOM magazine's cover during the boooooring presentations in my Universities. I really love to make this kind of art about people who I love and PJ Harvey is my favorite musician.
