It seems he was present in the recording studio so perhaps a spoken word feature a la Linton Kwesi Johnson on "The Ministry of Defence"? Unless he sings, of course, I have no idea tbh. I think you can see him (or some other guy) recording his voice/vocals in one shot.

BTW the thing that looks like a styrofoam/mannequin head is actually a microphone designed for binaural recording.

The looped music in the video reminds me a little bit of Low (RIP Mimi), love the slowcore vibe. I've read some rumours the album is scheduled for a September release but I hope we'll get the first single soon.

Binaural recording is so cool! I have one of those mannequin heads for that purpose myself. I can’t spot it in the video. Does it look like it was being used in the session?

None of the music in that video is looped that I can hear.

i've already seen that "goofy" looking mannequin head between Colin and Polly before:
looks like a Neumann KU100, an extremely sensitive (and expensive) binaural microphone. expect great whispers, since it is used mostly by ASMR creators.
