Interviewed by Bryan Appleyard. You have to pay to read it.

I would buy a copy but I can't get over my affliction to all things Rupert Murdoch!

Thanks for posting. It was pretty funny when he asked "does she have children", like she's hiding a child somewhere. Though I wouldn't put it past her.

What a set of peepers she has!

That was a really enjoyable interview.

Haha, right? So true.

"I don't talk about my personal life" should be the new "I don't like to repeat myself".

That was a good interview. Although, from the way it was written you could definitely tell that she's got a firm stance on not talking about her personal life and that questions like that are uncomfortable for her. If she was the type of person who appeared in tabloids all the time along with people like Britney Spears, she would lose some of the dark, interesting qualities that come with knowing little about a person. People become parodies of themselves if they live lifestyles like most celebrities. It also helps protect you from enormous public scorn if you do something people don't like.

Nice interview, thanks for posting sau!

He was pretty brave to ask those questions. I'm sure anyone who is granted an interview is informed by PJ's management of what kinds of questions are off-limits.

Fantastic! One of my favourite commentators, writers & essayists talks to Polly. It's the sort of thing I wanted to happen, but never thought would - especially since Bryan seems to be obsessed with good 'ol Country & Western, possibly my least favourite genre. Well one of them anyway.

(I must admit I think the 'goth' bit's rather lazy)
