Certainly not your average "cottage in the woods" horror movie is it? that of course is a good thing and wouldn't be expected from Trier. Beautifully shot and an amazing performance from Charlotte Gainsbourg! Not the kind of film you will forget any time soon, the first ten minutes was stunning. Disturbing? you betcha but I'll be making at least one more trip through it, shit I think I have to
Another shining example of why Hollywood should pack up it's gear and head on home!
Yeah, I knew it was going to be different since a LVT movie but I wasn't expecting what I saw. I was telling some friends about it today and they were all saying "omg omg send it to me I have to see this" and I'm thinking "ehhh don't be so eager" haha it's been 5 days or so and I still can't get the imagery out of my head. and major major props to Charlotte Gainsbourg. I want to see her get lots of awards/recognition for this performance because she's excellent but I don't know if the film will even get the chance. From what I understand, it's getting a lot of backlash because folks can't believe what he put on their screens (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm going to watch it again too, but not for a while...
and pitifuljoy, I was hoping Ghost Town would be good, I want to see it cause I love Ricky Gervais.
