So in the end, she DID work in the context of comedy?
I can't imagine her doing comedy. Except maybe a Jimi Hendrix impression? Oh wait, that was Long Snake Moan (which incidentally is one of my favorite songs).
BTW, I'm in a comedy competition. It's probably not Kosher for me to promote the fact ...

Help a fellow PJ fan win a comedy competition?
Yes, I am shamelessly using this board to gather fellow PJ fans to help me potentially win the National College Comedy Competition, over here in the USA. I represent Portland State's team.

Re: Feb 2011 tour
I hope the Sasquatch rumor is true. Not the rumor about Sasquatch being a real creature that exists in Northwestern wildernesses, but PJ Harvey performing at the music festival of that name.
Yup. I would pretty much be going to that fest just for her. But I'd have to avoid all the hipsters having ...

Re: Feb 2011 tour
It's been so long since I've posted on the Garden Forum.
So, keeping the last tour in mind, are we thinking she'll tour more of the west coast later? Or add more dates?
There's still a chance she'll come to Portland, OR?
If she does, it had better not fall on the night of an exam/show I'm booked ...

Re: Polly's New Album: What We Know So Far
I really want to hear the whole album now. I feel like within the album, it won't be nearly as jarring. And when I say jarring, I mean the feeling I got when I'd only heard DRY and TBYML, and then listened to WHITE CHALK.
I can count on an album. Can I count on a US tour that makes a stop in ...

Re: Polly's New Album: What We Know So Far
Did I seriously just miss that?
I thought it was going to happen later. DAMMIT.
I REALLY hope they'll make this show available to listen to after it's aired, like they have with previous shows.
My heart is a little bit damaged now.

Re: Polly's New Album: What We Know So Far
I'm listening now. I tuned in because someone on Facebook said there would be an interview beforehand. I immediately told two of my friends. I tuned in, and did not hear the lovely Dorset accent I expected. It appears Annie Mac is interviewing someone, but it is not PJ.
So I guess in about an hour ...

How come I can't find it on the site? Maybe because I'm on my cell phone right now. Life is so hard without PJ.

I haven't listened to anything by her, other than that song. I'm very behind on current music. I should probably catch up soon. I'm, like, missing out on my own generation... or something...

^Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The first time someone mentioned Amanda Palmer, I google image searched, and got that.

^ Wow, forget what I said about White Chalk . However, a simple Google search for "pj harvey leo tolstoy" gave me this: m

Re: Questions for Polly
[...] I met Polly early in 2008 in Melbourne. Her Mum and Mick Harvey too.
That's intense. I always imagine approaching her very relaxed and cool, because I've adjusted to meeting famous artists over the years, but I know I'd do exactly what you did. And if her mother and Mick Harvey were there ...

PJ Harvey seems to have been an influence on her. A lot of Polly's live performances during TBYML remind me of Dark Cabaret.
She's also covered "Rid of Me."
Also, nice gif!
