Re: Audio: New song from Polly

i'm a tad underwhelmed by this - sorry
I was also a bit underwhelmed, but then I kept waking up to it in my head over several mornings and throughout the day. It's catchy, simple, direct, and clear- exactly what it should be to serve the purpose of raising awareness for Shaker Aamer and others in ...

Re: PJ gets a gong

Came across this on Twitter which made me smile:

Her Majesty: "Polly, how far away do you want to stand when I present you with your MBE?"
PJ Harvey: "Fifty foot, Queenie."

I quite like Days 4 & 5.

Looks like a relic from LES was kept on an instrument (variophon?) as seen on one of the blog postings: http://thedeveloper.cc/sgt-lea-mills-si ... -electric/

You are in for a treat. Went to his Bristol show yesterday and was very impressed. The band was John, Jean-Marc Butty, Jeremy Hogg, Giorgia Poli, and Marta Collica. They sounded great and ...

Re: John Parish and Will Gregory discussing film scores

John's Watershed talk has been posted here: http://www.watershed.co.uk/dshed/filmic ... nversation

They've had to cut back on the length of the film clips they showed at the event so some of the discussion is a bit out of context, but still interesting.

There is also audio from a Q&A he did last year about scoring She, A Chinese here: http://www.watershed.co.uk/dshed/she-chinese-qa

Howe Gelb & Maria Mochnacz Interview

Hadn't seen this interview before, apologies if it's a repeat post. It's from a 2009 screening of the 'Sno Angel documentary. Short little Polly story around 32:00. There's also a brief mention of the Please Leave Quietly dvd toward the beginning.

Re: John Parish and Will Gregory discussing film scores

Thanks for posting this.

His talk on film music yesterday was interesting. It was recorded and I think will be posted on the Watershed site at some point. Will keep an eye out for it to share.

Re: John Parish sings the praise of film music

I am going to his talk this weekend and his show next week. Very excited for both and am really interested in seeing how the talk is going to be. Watershed and St George's are both fantastic places and the Filmic series this is a part of has quite a few interesting things on schedule: http://www.stgeorgesbristol.co.uk/2012/ ... lmic-2013/

Re: (Not) Leaving California?

^Yes, property records are considered public in the States and searches are fairly easy to do (I used to do them often in my last job). Los Angeles is slightly more difficult because the records are only able to be accessed in person rather than online, likely due to privacy concerns.

In keeping ...
