Re: 20 years ago- Bubblegum

No offence taken.
The liner notes are distinctly lacking, there are writing and producing credits but no performing credits.
The credits for the Bubblegum tracks were taken from a draft copy of the original album submission, hence no credits for the 'Weird Chill' album and the unreleased album.
I ...

Re: 20 years ago- Bubblegum

The details on https://www.discogs.com/it/release/31551115-Mark-Lanegan-Band-Bubblegum-XX specify the name Polly Harvey only on Hit the City and on Come To Me. She's not mentioned on "You Wild Colorado", but to me it sounds she could very well be, in a very sing-along style.

The weird part is ...

On the Bubblegum XX reissue/remaster who sings backing vocals on Mark's cover of Cash's 'You Wild Colorado'?

Re: Dancehall at Louse Point Tour
As previously suggested the belief is that there were 4 dates played at the Bristol Fleece and Firkin - Tue/Wed/Fri/Sat evenings. 8th-12th October 1996
There's only 2 mentioned in the gigography, the 8th and 9th of October which would correspond with the Tue and Wed ...

Very underwhelming. Looks like Polly and I are finally parting ways. Sad.

Re: "Angelene" (from Lamacq Live) & "Kick It To The Ground"

Rega RP6 turntable into NAD PP4 digital pre-amp/usb out - into laptop running 'vinylstudio' software. Vinylstudio is fairly basic, if more editing and 'cleaning' of the vinyl sound is required then 'Audacity' is a better choice and both are free.

Sorry, I havn't got the Stories promo.

Re: Polly after the shows

Polly signed Rid of Me on the day of release for me in the record shop where Rob Ellis used to work and she was very pleasant and seemed happy to be there. Things have changed since and that's up to her what she does now. On the whole I have no need to meet and greet my 'heroes', i'm generally ...

Re: Why isn't Polly more popular?

Critical acclaim and popularity are very different things. She has the first in abundance and yet does not appeal to the wider music buying(stealing) population.
A lot of my non-PJ friends still describe her as a wailing incomprehensible banshee. An image she could at times be labelled with.
As Dark ...

Re: How do you feel about Polly's current musical inclinatio

Not quite sure what's going on with 'my' post above- seeming to include a comment from Mart.
The quote is mine and the comments below are Mart's.
But I think the point is made-

Much prefer the rocking Polly, from '91-2001. For me 'Hope Six' was an improvement on the previous 2 albums but the blues/rock era was what grabbed me and will stay with me.

me too, of all her albums Hope would possibly be my last choice to ...

Re: 2016-06-27 - Eden Sessions (Cornwall, UK)

The encore was just 'memorials'.
I agree with Mart, above, the arrangements were far better than the album, I was a little worried I might not enjoy the recent material, but I did.
I haven't seen her live for 7 years, mainly because I don't really like the last 3 'solo' albums but I thought i'd take ...
