I would have to say exactly the opposite, considering how the reviewer writes of "Nine months since Harvey debuted those words". probably referring to Polly's appearance on the Andrew Marr show last April, and apparently ignorant of the previous year's gigs in Portsmouth and Lulworth, which is where those words (of "Let England Shake") were in fact debuted.Polly_Jean_Cave wrote:... Well, ok. Maybe there are a few inaccuracies. But it's a lot better than some of the reviews i've read in the past. E.g. referrring to White Chalk as the follow up to Stories, or To Bring You My Love as the predecessor of Dry. I Suppose by "Nine Months since she debuted those words" He meant to the general public rather than just her fans.Pollyphoniac wrote:I would have to say exactly the opposite, considering how the reviewer writes of "Nine months since Harvey debuted those words". probably referring to Polly's appearance on the Andrew Marr show last April, and apparently ignorant of the previous year's gigs in Portsmouth and Lulworth, which is where those words (of "Let England Shake") were in fact debuted.Polly_Jean_Cave wrote:... and later in the same paragraph: "Harvey's hometown of Yeovil". the expression of a journalist who isn't in the know. (but they are mistakes typically made by non-Polly-followers.)
but I enjoyed reading this piece nonetheless. it's especially good to get some snippets of the new lyrics.
i caught those too, and then proceeded to laugh to myself that would even pick up that detail... proof that i know too much (re: just enoughPollyphoniac wrote:I would have to say exactly the opposite, considering how the reviewer writes of "Nine months since Harvey debuted those words". probably referring to Polly's appearance on the Andrew Marr show last April, and apparently ignorant of the previous year's gigs in Portsmouth and Lulworth, which is where those words (of "Let England Shake") were in fact debuted.Polly_Jean_Cave wrote:... Do a google image search for "Britannia", there's lots more.

The Lion symbolizes England (the Lion being part of the Royal coat of arms of the UK, the Unicorn the other half, for Scotland).
