Mojo, A few years ago I believe. 2004 or 2006. It was for Island's top 50 records.

Yeah it was posted in the old forum in the summer of 09. I remember because I downloaded the album after I read that and became a Waits fan.

Nah, "Rain Dogs" is Tom's best, in my opinion! Love that album :-)

Waits did so many albums and great ones (his earlier stuff a bit less, IMO). My favourite one is "Bone Machine". The way he uses drums and percussions on that album is simply fantastic. Add "Rain Dogs" and "Swordfishtrombones", and you have a perfect top 3 Tom Waits albums.

I still have a preference for the early stuff. Blue Valentine, Heartattack And Vine, Small Change but it's all great stuff. Picked up Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards when it came out a few years ago. Three CD's of oddball stuff from over the years. Maybe not entry level Waits but if your already a fan and haven't checked it out...
