100 hundred years of Duke of York's cinema

Post by sau »

Just wanted to indulge in saying happy 100th birthday to the gem that is the Duke of York's cinema in Brighton, England. The oldest continuously operating cinema in Britain.

It even hosts gigs now. Tim Robbins - yes, that Tim Robbins - is there next week with his band.

Note to CLBella: Kristen Hersh performed there recently. There was a very good review of her gig in the local press; wish I had bloody gone to that one.

Thank goodness for this place. There are many films I would never have seen if it wasn't for the Duke's.

And it's got great legs too...

Wiggins is so superbly unassuming, he looks like he's about to say 'Pop the gold medal in the post, I'm nipping out for some biscuits'
