Wow! I voted for her of course, although I don't think she has a chance of winning, the competition is pretty fierce. It's great that's she's getting this recognition though!

Polly is a good guitarist but she's not the best of the last 40 years!
Johnny Marr, Joey Santiago,Bob Mould,J Mascis, Kevin Shields from that list would all get my vote above Polly.
And personally, i think it's criminal that Kristin Hersh has not been included and would be top five in any list of great guitarists.

I don't think she will win either, but it will be super nice to see her in the top 10

Tossed my vote at Polly of course!
Now back to reality (love you polly but i'm sure you would laugh at the thought too), interesting idea to take all the people that would normaly make the top of the list out of the equation due to age. umm I could probably come up with a list that long of players that I think are better than all of them, this one is only catering to a small portion of my tastes. My first instinct was Jack White (feeding the blues to the next generation even if some of the kids don't realize it yet) but I guess I'd go with Thurston Moore.

I voted for PJ as well, and I also feel she as a very small chance of winning.
I do believe that win or loose her name
IS on the list. She may not be the best, but she is surly not the worst. I also feel PJ should play more lead guitar live, I know she can do it. How cool would it be for PJ to break into a ten minute guitar solo in the middle of one of her songs?

I voted for PJ of course, but for me Marc Ribot would be the best guitarist of the last 30 years...

Polly is a great performer and songwriter, but her best instrument is her voice.

Eh at using Sheela-Na-Gig for the clip. I would've preferred Easy or Ecstasy.

She's a damn good lyricist as well. This just in via a blog post on PJ's Myspace:
"PJ Harvey In This Week’s NME – April 14th, 2010
We thought you may be interested in checking out the current issue of NME where PJ Harvey is cited as one of the best lyric writers in their feature on Rock’s Greatest Lyricists."
It appears from the nme web site that we may be able to read this edition online next week.

ok, i have to admit that i didn't vote for her, because i don't think she was the best guitarist on that list. but she is undoubtedly great lyricist and this time i'm gonna definitely vote for her, no matter the competitors
