Sexism and Language - Old PJ Harvey Reviews

Hi all,
I am currently working on a project researching the way language is used to represent females in music.
I was wondering if any of you could link me to the 90s article which described Polly as 'the cow from hell' etc
Or any other early reviews/articles which took up that view of her work as feminist and 'man-hating' etc.
The Observers interview/report in 1995 by Andrew Billen would be great if anyone has this report.
Thank you

Good luck with this: it would be interesting to see what you come up with.

The Blandford biography has references to a couple of articles earlier than the ones on the Siren Rising site - but he doesn't reference particular statements in the text, which is frustrating if you're trying to use it as a guide to other sources.

I've got a paper copy of the Billen interview, from the days when I actually bought newspapers, in a file and re-read it a little while ago having not looked at any of that material for years. I remember at the time thinking 'this is a bit unnecessary', but the benefit of 21 years has changed that to 'this is jaw-droppingly appalling'. I would like to think she never read it.
