Re: NME -Ultimate Musical Icon
...and no Neil Young! How can you have just one icon for 60 years of music? It's just a shallow popularity contest and I don't think the massive record selling Adele was even in it.
Pleased to see Syd Barrett, Ian Curtis and Robert Smith in there...
Polly, if you win this blame me, because I voted for you when I should have voted for Orville the Duck

Re: NME -Ultimate Musical Icon
voted. i agree. 60 years is way too wide a time span to pick just one. at least if the had narrowed it down to 1990-present it would have made more sense - the generation that started in the 90s and is now in their 40s. that would have narrowed it down a lot considering music went to shit after 1996, aside from the people from the early 90s and prior that kept going. Polly, Trent Reznor, Tori Amos, etc... in my "why" submission afterwards i pointed out that old saying, "if the student isnt better than the teacher then the teacher has failed," which i totally believe! and for that Bob Dylan should be very proud bc in my opinion Polly is the best damn songwriter on the planet!
