Review of 'The Beauty and the Sorrow: An Intimate History of the First World War', by Peter Englund. I have been thinking of buying this one after reading an incredibly positive review elsewhere.
Very complimentary review here. Even Polly and the album get a mention in the last paragraph:

Hardback £15.00

The book sounds really good to me, the real stories of ordinary people dealing with adversity during war.
It was interesting that the PJ Harvey Facebook page chose to post the video "Down by the Water" on 11/11/11. Which was appreciated very much, by those who commented there. All things considered, I would have posted "In the Dark Places" with its words. More relevant to 11/11/11, Let England Shake and our present political agenda towards war.
Later that day............
Waterstone's was right near the supermarket, so had a look in there this afternoon. Sure enough the hardback was in there, marked as £25:00. So I had a 5 minute browse through it's pages. Yeah, it's a book I would very much like to read (some b/w photos). It is sure to be an emotive book.
