"I actually played at my brother's wedding. And the song that they requested for me to play was "Rid of Me." That's a true story. My own brother."

LOL. Thanks for posting this.

^Love that anecdote! :D
Thanks for sharing, nice interview.

Though I really hope what she said doesn't mean she's never gonna play some songs off Rid Of Me and Dry anymore.

'You said something' as a wedding song....If I ever get married one day I'll use it.

Hahaha, that musta been hilarious and awesome to witness. (I have to wonder if anyone sang along!)
GQ: Can we expect a comedy album soon then?
PJ Harvey: We'll have to see. I never say no to anything. I keep an open mind.
Oh, really? :naughty:

Enjoyable little article. :green:

Curious about her comments regarding the old albums. I wonder if she'll ever feel that way regarding TBYML?

I doubt that she really won't play ANY older songs again. She was playing Rid Of Me, Man-Size, Oh My Lover and Water up to two years ago. She played Sheela-Na-Gig during one of the White Chalk shows, and Snake frequently too. I know that was a little while ago now. However, she still was no spring chicken. =p

I think I've found a picture of her brother. There can't be many Saul Harvey working for Harvey Stonemasons...

Thanks for posting. That was a nice little interview. I doubt that she'd stop playing all songs from the early records, there are probably just a number of them that she doesn't find relevant anymore. As was said above, she has played several older songs in the past couple of years. Lots of the older songs seem just as fresh today as they did back then!

I absolutely love the story about her brother's wedding! Never would have thought of Rid of Me for a wedding.
