Covers of Polly

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but eh well, it'll get moved if I was wrong.

What are the best covers other people have done of Polly? I heard a good rock/upbeat/dance-ish remi of "Dress" in a club once, never found out who'd done it, was probably the closest I'll ever get to hearing PJ outside of my own house.

Although I never thought they'd pull it off, Placebo just did a cover of "Hardly Wait" for their new single:

I was very surprised. I knew Brian Molko was a longtime Polly fan but still; he seems to have captured every essense of Polly from this era and "Rid of Me"'d it up in the chorus. I like hearing him trying to emulate her voice too, works strangely well I think.

Oh and as a musician I've always wanted to cover one, but always felt I'd never do it justice. Any suggestions of a song to try and cover?

I remember reading that Placebo have been trying to persuade Polly to do a duet for years. Apparently she's said yes several times, then changed her mind at the last minute. Before this cover I never thought a duet would work, but now I'm not so sure. Defo think Placebo should cover "To Bring You My Love" live, they'd do it justice.

The Dresden Dolls cover of Rid Of Me is pretty awful in my opinion. I normally enjoy Amanda's broken, rough voice but somehow it didn't work at all with ROM. :S

i agree with you supersonic, i really, REALLY hate the dresden dolls cover. I think it's terrible, I couldn't get through the whole thing.
