Just wondering if she has any fans over here. I'm excited her CD is coming out tomorrow - Speak For Yourself and iMegaphone are so goooood!
I tried pasting some of her vids but all i got was code, do I need to enable html or something?

HTML is not allowed here, the authors cite a security problem.

If you're trying to post a flash file, the .swf file needs to be on the net somewhere and you have to set the dimensions. Pocket Knife figured it out, this is what the code looks like -

Code: Select all

[flash=400,200]http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemailtwohundred.swf[/flash]
The numbers are width x height.

If you have some YouTubes, the embedding won't work, and finding the address to the actual Flash file can be difficult. Just post a link.

I love Imogen! :green: I've only heard her new single so far and well, it's still very much "Imogen Heap". But gotta wait to hear the whole thing before I judge ;) It's out today right? I'll need to go buy it this weekend.

She walked right by me at a show and damn she.is.TALL.

Thanks H&HW!

I bought Ellipse the other day, was very disappointed at first because i had gigantic expectations after Speak For Yourself - but it really grew on me. She made 40 10min blogs about the album process, asked fans for ideas and artwork and constantly twittered with everybody - I think that's really neat!
Anyways, here are some of my faves of hers:
Getting Scared
Angry Angel
Oh Me Oh My

Headlock
Goodnight & Go
Loose Ends
Hide & Seek
I Am In Love With You

Hide & Seek is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard; made me cry when I first heard it.

It's lovely packaging, yes. Although I don't like the actual album cover...I like the idea, but her face looks odd. :???:

Thanks. I love that video; Shirley looks incredible. A really strong single, too. Shame it didn't do better.

I'm checking her out for the first time now. Some songs are really imaginative, Hide and Seek - wow!

Thanks for this. :)

Yes! I was wondering why she approved that. If anything, I wished she would have looked directly into what she was holding.

"Can't Take it In" (the song she did for the first Narnia movie) makes me want to cry every time. I just love it to bits.

Other faves;
Clear The Area
Daylight Robbery
Just for Now
Oh Me, Oh My
Speeding Cars
The Walk
Must Be Dreaming

Look what just came in my mailbox!

The Elliptical World of Imogen Heap
Electronic Musician magazine.

I haven't read it all yet, but she chronicled the recording of Ellipse on YouTube? :geeker:

^ wow, Imogen's relationship with her fans is just about the exact opposite of Polly's.

as is her musical technique:

"I [record] a lot of acoustic instruments and just process them as audio [data] in [Digidesign] Pro Tools, and manually toy with them like Play-Doh. I don't use much outboard gear at all. You go into some studios and you see racks and racks and racks of gear, but all I actually use is my Avalon 737 for any singular mic stuff, and then if I'm miking up anything else, I use my Focusrite Liquid Channel"

Hide and Seek has over 8 million views on YT:

And her stature, she looks quite tall...

I posted that link on Facebook and somebody else was taken with her, and found this live performance -

I wouldn't have thought she could play Hide and Seek live, I think she's using a vocoder?

I'm usually not a big fan of "electronic" music but these two performances just blew my mind! Time to go digging up more info I think...
