Alright guys, here's the deal: I know there's the whole country restriction problem with 7digital and the people who pre-ordered from iTunes and shouldn't have to buy it again. That is why I offered to share the song in the first place. But this is official material, currently available for purchase and we are in a public forum. So even though it's being done with the best of the intentions, please do not post links to Big Guns here. I know everyone here is a fan who has pre-ordered or would pay for it if they could, but keep in mind anyone from anywhere can access this forum. So please keep it private.

Being a UK resident I managed to buy it, (although it sucks it is country-restricted, especially in this day and age) and I love it.

Sorry. I've seen links to official songs posted in the media section, i didn't think this was much different. I see where i went wrong though. This wasn't my attempt to "stick it to the man", lol.

No problem at all. I assume the official material you saw probably falls into the single material and out-of-print official releases category, as described in our Forum Policy. In my interpretation the situation of Big Guns is similar to the iTunes exclusives, and we only share those in private. The whole thing about file sharing is indeed cloudy and hard to tell sometimes, but we try to be coherent with the policy that was elaborated and agreed upon by the team with the input of our members. We understand that gardeners get confused sometimes, we do too.

It's easy to forget, I saw the link late last night and the usual alarms didn't go off.

It's also a bit confusing, "The Nightingale" will probably never be available be available in the US, but as long as it's for sale somewhere it's off limits to share publicly here.

Everyone forgets and makes mistakes, it gets easier to do so every go around. We won't be banning anyone for this, nor is anyone particularly upset about it, this is just a reminder. We support Polly Harvey, that's the bottom line.
