We went to see an opera at a local cinema a couple of months ago - much cheaper than the live performance, and a much better view. Of course it also gives you a better view of all the drooling and spitting involved. There are some things mortals are not supposed to see.

"Guys, I have been exchanging emails for the past few months with none other than the very Maria Mochnacz.
First, let me say she is sweet and cool AS FUCK. I even offered my place for her to come a shoot something (of course I live in Mexico and therefore it's highly unlikely she'll take me up on my offer, but the seed was planted).
Second, the main reason I contacted her was to get info on prints.
I asked her about the photo on the promo sleeve of Send His Love to Me (in the picture) and here are some interesting bits about the image (which probably were common knowledge but not to me):
1. She didn't take that picture.
2. It's not actually a picture but a still from an unreleased version of the Send His Love to Me video, which was shot in London before they flew to California to shoot the official video. The unreleased video was shot by an unnamed director.
3. The video is probably never seeing the light of day because it was deemed by them as "an embarrassing mess".
So there ya have it. One of my very favorite Polly pictures, which I'll never have in high res."

Thanks for the info, I've always loved that picture and I've been trying for a long time to get my hands on that promo without succeeding.
I always wondered if that outfit was ever used during the TBYML tour because it fits very well the mood of the album, it would have made for a great visual. And I just think it's a pity this wasn't the official single cover, I love the atmosphere it paints.
So this alternate video goes in the mistery list with the ones for Angelene and The Devil (listed on pollyharvey.co.uk as "Directed by Maria Mochnacz - March 2008"), damn! I respect the fact that Polly doesn't dwell much on her past works and she's a bit of a control freak, but I must admit I so hope we'll get to see those someday. Sorry PJ!

I checked this promo cd. It mentioned :
Photography Valerie Phillips from a film by Maria Mochnacz
Different from the regular release cd : Images taken from the video directed by Maria Mochnacz.
