Re: The Hope Six Demolition Project new album info
I love Polly as an artist and she is the part of who I am today. When I looked back, every album she made improved me as a person, and also improved my listening and music experience especially with experimental albums such as; Is This Desire?, White Chalk and Let England Shake. So, I just trust her. If she does something, it means she knows something. Also, even as a fan, I do like or do not like, she will continue what she wants to do. She is not an artist who tries to make fans happy.
For me, when I look the albums I am listening these days, the most different album is Polly's abum and it makes me happy. I feel that I am following the right path. It makes me feel like I love something unique. When I listen every album of Polly, I am not following my own taste of music, I am trying to undertsand what she is doing and what she is interested in becase of as I said at first, I love Polly as an artist.
I did not even think about the best or the worst album of Polly, I just listen each album depend on my mood or just to remember who I was when she was released that album. For sure, in the future, I'll remember this album with all positive and negative things what is happening around the world and in my life, improving my point of view and experience thanks to Polly.

Mick Harvey: "Outside Greville Records yesterday for Record Store Day. Played some David Bowie songs and sat next to a large cardboard add for Polly's new album.
The closest I've ever come to busking."

Re: The Hope Six Demolition Project new album info
I'm wondering now what she's going to do on stage, how she's gonna get a good balance between new and ancient stuff. That would be pretty heavy to mix LES with the new material. What do you think?

I would be surprised if she didn't perform every song from this album this time around. Can't see one not working live.Demolition wrote:I'm wondering now what she's going to do on stage, how she's gonna get a good balance between new and ancient stuff. In a way it would feel odd/out of place to have any old material. Not very helpful there, sorry! haha
Re: The Hope Six Demolition Project new album info
Think all of them will work very well live.
After having the record a few days, I think the impact - compared to "Let England Shake" - will be less given it is seen as a companion piece to it (and in terms of the theme it is a companion piece). I think this accounts for some of the negative, or lukewarm shall we say, reviews.
