Gosh, that tan skirt again. This looks very much like the same occasion as the photos taken for The Guardian in 2000 I posted a little while ago (unless she decided to wear exactly the same outfit somewhere else, down to the shoes).

I went searching for "Louse Point" and found a lovely set of photos of Polly and Mr Parish playing A Woman a Man Walked By at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in 2009, taken by this gentleman, Valerio Berdini (https://liveon35mm.wordpress.com/ - that's Amanda Palmer on his top banner, too, those stripey tights are unmistakable). I don't know whether any of the pictures have been posted here before, but I don't recognise them. I've seen the dress before, and wondered what occasion she wore it for.

Excellent, thank you. I don't know what's better, the Natalie Merchant comparison or the repeated references to bloody Cornwall. I suppose at least at that early stage the mistake was understandable. I quite recently saw a description of PJ as Welsh. Welsh! If 'Wales' is a translation for 'anywhere vaguely west of London', then fair enough ...

Judging from the haircut these are both from 1998 without a doubt, but I don't know the exact date.
I'm always looking for photos and articles from that year/tour and it disappoints me there is not much around,
it looks like she got a very poor media coverage around that time compared to the rest of her career.
