I'll admit to seeing it online just because I love Meryl Streep

(and yeah it was typical, predictable, formulaic hollywood crap)

Helvetica, a documentary about the typeface, its origins in Switzerland, it's immediate and pervasive effect and following backlash.

Oh yeah, she was the one that said something like - "Helvetica is like... alsdfjkf THE VIETNAM WAR! CORPORATIONS! ..."

I was flipping the channels sunday morning and there she was, saying just that! Hahaha. She was joking surely, but yeah.
You know me and fonts

. Oddly enough, typography wasn't my favorite class while I was in college for design and now it's the first thing I notice in a design
Beer Wars - Pretty interesting documentary about the big head honchos and small brewers in the U.S. I honestly thought for the longest time that most beer was found in certain locations due to demographics and not because Anheuser Busch rules the competition. So that's why, for the longest time I couldn't find New Castle in urban areas! Damn you Anheuser!

watched kurasawa's Red Beard , a little soap opera like in parts but worth watching
twilight samurai- gentle touching tad sentimental, well acted, good portrayal of that historical period in japan (as far as i can tell!)
Fish Tank thought this was really well done, especially the lead actress
Weeping Meadow very beautiful unusual
