Ooo thanks a lot - shall have a go. Had a quick attempt earlier at tabbing it but didn't get anywhere.

Edit: Damn. I don't have an F# on my Autoharp :( Shall have to improvise.

I wasn't so keen on F#, as D seemed to sound better to me. I've been doing it something like this, although in a couple cases I'm not sure if I wanted to go with Gm or Bb. Bb seemed a better fit for my ears, but there it is.

Astroboy64, thank you for these chords. I had a blast using them to practice the song last night, tho the "united nations" chord progressions at the end were new and challenging.

Strum on!

lines not yet on the chords sheet. . . they need tweaking:

this lingering stung (stunk)
flies swarming everyone
over the host's summit peak
flesh quivering in the heat
it's the summit out today
our feelings cannot explain

I've been playing around with this for a day or two and have come up with the following. Thanks astroboy64 - you gave me the start I needed. Any comments welcome.

[Em]I've seen and done things I want to forget; [A, G, F#, Em]
I've seen soldiers fall like lumps of meat,
Blown and shot out beyond belief.
Arms and legs were in the trees.

[Em]I've seen and done things I want to forget; [A, G, F#, Em]
coming from an unearthly place,
Longing to see a woman's face,
Instead of the words that gather pace,
The words that maketh murder.

[G]These, these, [Bb]these are the words-
[Dm]The words that maketh murder.
These, these, these are the words-
The words that maketh murder.
These, these, these are the words-
The words that maketh murder.
[G]These, these, [Bb]these are the words- - -
[Dm]Mur[Em]der...

[Em]These, [B]these, [Em]these are the [B]words-
The [Em]words that [B]maketh [EM]mur[B]der.

[Em]I've seen and done things I want to forget; [Em, B, Em, B]
I've seen a corporal whose nerves were shot
Climbing behind the fierce, gone sun,
I've seen flies swarming everyone,
Soldiers fell like lumps of meat.

[Em]These are the words, the words are these.
[G]death linger[Bm]ing, stunk,
[Dm]Flies swarming everyone,
Over the whole summit peak,
Flesh quivering in the heat.
This was something else again.
I fear it cannot be explained.
[G]The words that make, [Bb]the words that make
Mur[D5]der.

[D5]What if I take my problem to the [C]United Nations? [G, Bb]
x 8
The D5 I use is the normal D at 2nd fret but with the little finger on the E string at fret 5

I love this song so much I'll dig my guitar from the dust hole it inhabits and give it a try. Thank you guys.

Well, the progression in the verse seems to actually be A-G-D/F#-Em

As for the chorus to me it sounds like: G-Gm-Dm-Dm/C

I am actually trying my best to get this right. Could you elaborate on the strumming pattern for this song? It would be great if you could make a video tutorial for this song. I could not find anything in YouTube for this song.

I guess you can figure out the strumming pattern watching her playing on the videoclip. As some parts of the video are just her playing the autoharp and singing is much easier to hear the pattern than in a live gig video.
