I bought the video of 'Man Bites Dog' when it was released. Good to know you are watching challenging films like that, E. I think two members of the film crew following him are played by the co-directors. One died very young. 'Man Bites Dog' is the only film they directed together.
I always recommend 'Come and See' (Idi i smotri); I reckon it is possibly the best war film ever made. Once seen never, ever forgotten.
Here's my nearest indie cinema - The Duke of York's. A little oasis. The oldest cinema in Britain still operating.
I don't visit as much as I should. The legs on the roof were on the balcony for the Brighton Festival one year. The owners liked them so much they put them on the roof where they have stayed ever since.
that's sad about the one director; definitely one of the most interesting films i've ever seen and i don't think i'll forget that movie. love the look of it too. i'll look into "come and see," i love movie reccomendations
have you seen gummo? i think that's one of those movies that you get it or you don't and you love it or hate it. personally, i love it and find it hilarious, plus, whenever i go to cincinnati, i pass xenia where it's based in and i'm always tempted to stop by.
