Polly lip synching "C'mon Billy"
I've never seen Polly lip synching to any of her songs. Looking at TOTP footage of "C'mon Billy" on YouTube, I'm suprised to see her not only lip synching but the band and string instrument players are pretending to play. It's just the studio version of "C'mon Billy" from TBYML. Does anybody know the date of this performance? It's like watching Kate Bush. In all of her live performances on TV she's always lip synching.
Owen! Food! Don't you in-a-minute momma me! Get off your fat little ass or I'll break it for you! I want two soft-boiled eggs, white toast, and some of that grape jelly, God Damnit! And don't burn the toast! Move it, fat boy!

Re: Polly lip synching "C'mon Billy"
Lip synching was by far the usual way Top Of The Pops operated in all its years. Their understanding of "live in the studio" seemed to basically mean artists were in the room and breathing!
Occasionally this policy led to real embarrassment for performers, such as this appearance by All About Eve, who couldn't hear the playback.... https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=all+a ... 8geukqnIAQ#
