Has anyone bought this Japanese reissue of the Dry, remastered and on UHQCD?

Not remastered imo as described. The same low volume as the regular release.

If you listen the 2nd japanese edition cd (PHCR-2106) you can hear the difference. This a real remaster with new equalizer.
(sorry it was a private remaster (MP3 Gain only) from a cd rip but very good imo)

fireball, your post is a bit confusing. The picture you included is of the 2021 CD, but you’re talking about this one from 1995 (Mercury Rec., Japan) being the better remaster:

I haven’t played my copy of the new Japanese CD yet, and no longer have the original US CD (1992) to compare it to, but I find it hard to believe they’d just use an old master. Unfortunately there is no information in the insert or anywhere on the packaging indicating who performed the CD remaster, but I would assume it was created at the same time that Head supervised the vinyl remaster. Apart from the volume being low, have you A/B’d the new CD with the 1992 original to see if you can hear any differences? What about the original vinyl vs. the new pressings?

Incidentally there are several different pressings of the new vinyl, with different lacquers cut by different engineers are various mastering studios. I know the consensus was that the EU/UK pressings were better than the US (or at least the quality control was better at the pressing plants), but I don’t know if there’s much difference across the EU/UK variations. I have one US edition and one UK, and while I haven’t played the US one yet, the UK came with the usual paper particles expected when a disc comes in a paper sleeve as opposed to a poly sleeve (ugh), and definitely needs a thorough cleaning.
