10/08/2004-10/08/2024 20 years ago Mark Lanegan's album "Bubblegum" was published.

PJ sings with Mark in a couple of songs: "Hit the city" and "Come to me", absolute masterpieces, in my opinion, especially the latter: Pj and Mark's voices dance together in a breath taking, full- of- pathos song.

unfortunately Mark passed away in 2022, aged 57, for reasons still uncertain ( some articles talk about a Kidney disease), and unfortunately i couldn't find any photo with Polly and Mark together.

Back in 2004,though, Pj did talk about Mark in an inteview and she was very sweet in describing him.

here are a couple of videos containing the part of that interview where she's asked about him:

On the Bubblegum XX reissue/remaster who sings backing vocals on Mark's cover of Cash's 'You Wild Colorado'?

 could very well be PJ! i was looking foward the reissue, but i've quite been busy the last few days, so i forgot about it. Honestly i find the box very tempting, so i'll probably buy it... will take a month for the delivery though. :eyeroll:

maybe the credits sheet in the box will clear this up.

The details on https://www.discogs.com/it/release/31551115-Mark-Lanegan-Band-Bubblegum-XX specify the name Polly Harvey only on Hit the City and on Come To Me. She's not mentioned on "You Wild Colorado", but to me it sounds she could very well be, in a very sing-along style.

The weird part is that almost all of the bonus tracks have no detailed contributions, except for Union Tombstone "featuring Beck", so why not specify Polly if she was in that song too? Or at least credit the backup singe,r whovever she was...? Weird weird.

I'm asking because it was me that did that Discogs entry and I want to clarify other contributions.
Beck is mentioned on the release and the pre-release hype but the other contributors to the un-released tracks and demos aren't specifically mentioned.
Personally I think it sounds a little like Harvey , so I came here to ask.

Sorry dickie, I want to make clear that I was not judging the author of the entry, I actually thought whoever did it just copied the liner notes found on the album (if there are any)...
And after listening to the song again with my headphones, I'm still prone to say that could be our Polly, but singing in avery unaffected voice.

No offence taken.
The liner notes are distinctly lacking, there are writing and producing credits but no performing credits.
The credits for the Bubblegum tracks were taken from a draft copy of the original album submission, hence no credits for the 'Weird Chill' album and the unreleased album.
I shall return to them in due course.

The CDs arrived today, way before i expected them. Unfortunately the printed credits are lacking names too, i scanned the demos/unreleased songs credits:

the only thing it says about track 8 ( you wild colorado) is that Troy Van Leeuwen produced, mixed and played all instruments in various hotel locations... that's it...
who the heck is the female singer? how is it possible no one in the recording company made any inquiry about the performers, before publishing the reissue???
