It really annoys me how they(journos) keep asking the same dumb questions( "what about your song X/music career", "what about ukraine") and keep getting the same answers.
What annoys me the most is the constant referencing on her music career while they SHOULD discuss a purely literal work, it's almost disrespecting, in my honest opinion. It looks like they can't manage to understand she is much more than a musician. And what about the Nick Cave thing? I mean, again? That story ended 30 years ago.come on! I'm sorry for the rant, folks, i'm a nasty old man. Last thing ( since this is a sleepless night for me) i was planning to translate a/ a couple of interviews with italian musicians who worked with Polly( and talked about her) what do you about it? Let me know!

True, but – to play the devil's advocate – so far the interviews have appeared in very mainstream media (BBC, The Guardian, Dagens Nyheter), i.e. they're meant to reach a wider audience and therefore need a framing/reference points for an average reader – "Oh, she's that rock singer", "Oh, she's the one who sang with Nick Cave" etc. Obviously it's reductive for fans who have been following her career closely but it is what it is. Just like all Björk articles still mention the swan dress and beating up that reporter, Polly press profiles come with obligatory Nick Cave and child-drowning mentions.

I think deeper dives into her process of creating Orlam and discussions of her poetry influences might be the subject of the upcoming appearances at literary festivals – which might prove more interesting for us than interviews in Sunday supplements of mainstream press. I wish at least one of them was broadcast (or for Polly to go on some literature podcast!).

I think it would be brilliant to have them in English!
