Discovering that Ian Olliver worked for Ray was quite a revelation. I had wondered why he dropped out of the band. Amazing this takes nearly 30 years to be mentioned! Does anyone know what Head's band was?

Mark Vernon teasing us with another demo cassette on his instagram:

Image

A brief trip down #memorylane Here is the treasured #c60cassette mailed to me in May #1990 by Polly Jean Harvey now #pjharvey of her early acoustic demos recorded on her 4 track #tascam . The info on the cassette cover was neatly annotated and chronicled by Polly. On hearing it I was immediately transfixed. ‘Happy And Bleeding’ ‘Plants And Rags’ and ‘Sheela Na Gig’ from the cassette were subsequently electrified with @robellisdrums and Ian Olliver at the Icehouse Studios in #yeovil in July of that year. Two of these recordings are featured on her first album ‘Dry’. It now occurs the arrival of this cassette/ artefact is probably why those who were subsequently involved are where we are today 30 years later in this #paralleluniverse

Ah, Ben Groenevelt. Lovely man and great bass player. Gives the occasional lunchtime concert in Bristol, playing mostly jazz. Check out his stuff if you can.

And it features Wait! Which later turned up on one of the White Chalk b-sides.
