Hi everyone,

I've had no luck searching in the internet, so I thought it would be best to ask here.

I remember seeing PJ Harvey lists of her favorite albums in 1999 and 2001, I do because she picked two of my favorites in both cases and it surprised me, one being The Creatures' "Anima Animus" (1999) and the other Kristin Hersh's "Sunny Border Blue" (2001), for which I remember her quote saying something like she found it brilliant that Kristin played all the instruments. I dont know if those were lists that popped on the oficial website or some magazine, but I can't find them and I'm wonderig if someone else is familiar with that memory and maybe even saved the info.

Thanks for your help!

not from 2001 but this is her list she gave to pjharvey.net for 2000 that I found in Blandford's Biography
1 Calexico - Hot Rail
2 Giant Sand Chore of Enchantment
3 Coldplay - Parachutes
4 Steven R. Smith - The Death of Last Years Man
5 Christmas - Christmas (Rob Ellis)
6 Radiohead - Kid A
7 U2 - All That You Can't Leave Behind
8 Tiffany Anders - Running From No Place To Nowhere

I wish she still did these end of year lists!

I remember reading an interview where she talks about how much she likes U2, but I didn't know she was into Coldplay at one point.

I remember that. She also said that she hadn't been too keen on any of Hersh's previous work (or words to that effect), but this one she really liked a lot, thought it was great, etc..

At least, a particular fondness for the drummer. Not as a musician so much but as a "hunk", which I kind of gathered from the subtle context of an interview. I think it's in either part one or two of this video interview, when she's asked which U2 video she wanted to see and she says something like, "the one with Larry Mullen Jr.", with a bit of a wry smile.

Does anyone have the 1998 list?? I remember she mentioned Sonic Youth's "A Thousand Leaves" somewhere... would love to see what the full selections looked like.

Speaking of Polly's favourites, there's a monthly playlist curated by her on her Spotify profile.
