Oh my goodness, the 1 min clip is astonishingly good.
It reminds me a little bit of the unreleased Peel session in which the trio played with some horn accompaniment (I believe they were from Gallon Drunk ? Please correct me if I'm wrong.) The heavy guitars with saxophone (is there brass in the mix? can't tell) is very pleasing.
I really enjoyed the live version, though I'd been hoping the studio version would have a bit more going on, and boy, I'm not disappointed. This has increased my excitement for the album exponentially. It seems to have a dense heaviness the likes of which I haven't heard in her studio work in a very long time. That being said, I should really wait to hear the full thing before I say any more.
It will be hard to wait!
Were you talking about this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOHAih3oWLwI think james johnston is touring with PJ for this record too. You're right, the past three albums have been very sparse- White Chalk and Uh Huh Her especially. LES a little less so, but still pretty sparse. No problem with that whatsoever, but it's time she do with some dense instrumentation again like Stories.
We only gotta wait 2 more days I believe. Not too bad
