Thanks a lot! That was great fun to read. However, I was slightly annoyed by the writer's flippant dismissal of Is This Desire?, especially when he writes that it has "impressionistic lyrics that are not as accomplished or insightful as they might have seemed at the time."

agreed, I think the ITD lyrics are some of her best.

I love that she mentions Leonard Cohen that surprised me. Yes, ITD is one of her best but the article has some interesting points. :)

consider the possibility that these images might only be juxtapositioned within this picture, like a collage of photographs taken separately but assembled together in such a way as to produce this poly-visual Polly visage. or they could very well be an actual series of mirrors but not represented here in the exact physical positions in which they were actually set up.
