Fantastic! I love it. The samples pull it all together. Her vocals caught me a little off guard but after about 5 seconds I fell in love all over again. So glad she shared something other than LES.
My day has officialy ended with a smile

I'm really impressed and I'm liking this, but I think the best part of all this are the lyrics. Really amazing. It's just weird to hear Polly using so much effects, sounding almost like Animal Collective. I think this will get some airplay and I'm thinking that we'll get a great video for this one.

and um...TOTALLY love it; it's so weird! i think that's a chorus flange on her voice!

Well the funniest thing just happened. My mother, who obviously knows nothing about Polly, stumbled across an online article about the release of Written on the Forehead, and there was a link to the song on soundcloud.com in the article, so she went there, because she knows I'm a huge fan, I guess, and listened to it. and this is what she had to say: "I think there's something wrong on the website, it sounds completely distorted, it's awful". and then I listened and of course everything was OK, I told her that the "distortion" and the "awfulness" is the song, to which she replied: "that's the music she does? blah blah I can't believe you're traveling all the way to London in February for this". LOL. My mother, ladies and gentlemen.

I listened to it a few times this morning and now I really like it. Happy tune, sad lyrics (which now I understand, thanks!)

I don't know if anyone's said this already - but the song sounds way different if you hear it through really good speakers - if you think the vocals sound too thin or high you might want to give it a try, I liked it a lot better!

I've found something. Laura Snapes - Who did the interview with Polly for NME - replied this on this website:
http://www.thelineofbestfit.com/2010/11 ... -forehead/

"The rest of the album sounds nothing like this, it's really weird that they've chosen to put this out first..."

^^ wow, now I'm even more excited for the album!! I was wondering if that song was reflective of the rest of it, or if they put that song out to give us false ideas, like the black hearted love thing. ;)

I'm still listening to written on the forehead.. :yeah:
