Okay so I like to think I keep up-to date with recent music and when something amazing comes along I like to tell others.
This is the first I have ever heard from this artist but to give you an idea of what its all about - Its described as: ''a folk opera based on the orpheus myth and set in a post apocalyptic American depression era.'' Yeah I know...just listen though.
So yeah, its not for track skipping..this is ambitious stuff...it goes from delicate folk to ballads, to tom waits esque vocals and instrumentation. The lyrics are consistently intelligently delivered...yeah, I'll shut up now but yeah...this is quite wow
It might seem a bit too much as it is kind of a concept album which I never thinks really works and always feels kinda contrived but the music maybe makes up for this.
