Samples from the upcoming Jeffrey Lee Pierce (The Gun Club) tribute album 'The Journey Is Long'.

Very interesting artists involved in the project: Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, Warren Ellis, Mark Lanegan, Debbie Harry, Lydia Lunch, The Jim Jones Revue etc.

There's no less than two different duet versions of the song 'The Breaking Hands' available for prelisten. One by Nick Cave & Debbie Harry:

And another by Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell:
http://soundcloud.com/rolling-stone-mag ... l-campbell

Definitely a 'must buy' when released in Europe.

Thanks, RedGretsch. Very good line-up; Mick's there! The Jim Jones Revue finish it off!

I'm guessing this is the song The Jim Jones Revue have recorded:

^Yes, that must be the one.

There are a few more songs here (including Mick's version of 'Sonny Boy'):

Album looks to be released April 9th on AmazonUK.

And I only now realised that this is actually part 2 of Pierce tributes, the first one being 'We Are Only Riders' from 2009 (also featuring Cave, Harvey etc.). Have to look into that one as well now.

Sounds highly promising from those 2 versions, can't even decide which one I like better!

Drop Out Venus - Love In Vein

I read somewhere that they are like a mix of Polly and Nick Cave!

I played a Jan Akkerman gig from 09 and a Tori gig from last year on my flight from London Heathrow to New York JFK yesterday. Both downloads from the excellent sugarmegs.org website. Not a lot of Polly (though do have an exquisite New York gig from pre-White Chalk outings that I was privileged to be at.

Is anybody going to Greece to see his collaboration with a dance theatre this October?
