Anyone into their stuff and this genre as a whole? I'm guessing so if we like our dark alt rock with PJ. I've been listening to 'Nude With Boots' by Melvins today. It really is like a master class in heavy guitar riff music. Its wicked. Nice bass driven Sludge/Stoner sound - I dont think that means all that much but I'm very impressed all the same! They remind me a bit of Mastodon which are another fantastic band. Im quite obsessive about Kyuss too with 'One Inch Man' being quite a favourite: I love the groove to it. Makes me want to dance straight away.lol Link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAXGu81Rk1g Enjoy and nice weekends one and all ![]() |

I've always liked The Melvins although I never really considered them "stoner rock" (maybe if I smoked more ![]() ![]() I listen to QOTSA and have tried checking out Kyuss but didn't care much for them. |

Finally saw the Melvins last month; they borrowed folks from Modest Mouse and played with 4 sets of drums at the end, sounded great! |

Wicked There was quite a few I didn't recognise, take it that was their latest album, can't find a setlist. The guys from Mudhoney were down the front listening too. I did one shaky video, always good sound on the stage there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM9PYqw0fMM I like QotSA and the Heads from that genre too, the latter are very underrated. |
