"In 2010 I hope I will be doing a new film score, should be working on the new PJ Harvey album and will be trying to complete a writing project of my own – a musical one that is."

I listened to a Mick Harvey interview where he plays "a PJ Harvey song called Glorious". It's a beautiful, emotive, heartbreaking song. I'll try to transcribe the lyrics. If anyone's already posted this, please ignore. I couldn't find it anywhere on the forum.

A ruined man
Ruined man
Sun set on a seaside town
A lover's sigh
A lover ran
Through the barricades and swam
Hard as diamonds
Strong as steel
A love so deep
It will not heal
The horse won't eat
The bird won't sing
That princess she took everything
And the day will be glorious
And the night will fall over us
And the sea is calm
Hard as diamonds
Strong as steel
A love so deep
It will not heal
I love you inside
I love you out
A love so deep it can't (?) be found
And the day will be glorious
And the night will fall over us
And the sea is calm

Post edited to include extra information on the song:

"Mick Harvey, accompanied by Rosie Westbrook on double bass, played an excellent support set, choosing songs from Chris Bailey's Photograph through to unreleased treasures written by P.J. Harvey that he has discovered on old cassettes in his possession. Material as powerful as Glorious is certainly too good to be hidden away in the bottom of a drawer."

Edited again because I've uploaded the song here:

Post subject:  Re: Mick Harvey

bumping up an old post. Mick's written a new album:
http://www.myspace.com/mickharvey/blog

"I am in the throes of trying to set up some album launch shows for Australia in May and some selected dates in Europe for early June. Hopefully I'll be able to arrange more extensive live performances later in the year once the commitment to Polly's principle block of touring has been completed."

Perhaps this explains why Mick appears distracted on PJ's tour?
