I wondered actually if you'd seen them in the 70s, Hell

No, I knew they were around, people I knew had Bare Trees, Mystery to Me (I'm having to look all this up - lol), Heroes Are Hard to Find, the pre-Buckingham-Nicks era which was quite a bit different, as I remember, but I can't find any sample tunes on iTunes or Amazon. In the second half of the 70s, B&N really reshaped the band and they really went big, but by that time I was working the big nightclub and going to shows, to work, every week. I know I kind of considered the Mac to be too poppy at the time, but that was just me being snobby I suppose. Of course that's when Elvis Costello happened and I was lost to that, and punk was starting to sneer, and sneer in particular at bands like Fleetwood Mac. So now, I consider the Mac to be one of the great bands that kind of got away.

Annnd… it didn't take much to take me back and remember what I liked about that time. Yes, we had color video in 1977, but this one has the best performance and sound and that's what it's all about after all..

Sorry, I didn't realize the YouTube embed thingy didn't work. So much to do…

Also this, from the same album. I actually had a Vox organ with the "S" shaped legs that I put together from a kit, and I had always thought it sounded kind of cheesy until EC came along. Never mind that Ray Manzarek in the Doors had one too.

I saw Elvis Costelo perform only a couple of times during that era, but the shows were intense, and it was amazing to see him sweat clear through those suit jackets by the third song.

I never knew these videos existed - OMG!!

yeah the early FM is more '60s blues' I think

it is poppy but I've been making a concerted effort to listen to 'all different types' of music lately

Fleetwood Mac was a great band, I know that now. :shades:

Yeah, my listening tastes have really widened over the years, although there are limits. I even gave ABBA a chance, but when a family member had them on EVERY DAY for about 5 days, I couldn't take it any more. GAH.

Which is the other thing that was going on in the late 70s, but something that I feel no need to expend any effort to appreciate. DISCO!

This clip was on the tube the other night, I'm proud to say I had never seen if before. Or ever watched it all the way through. Or ever will.

ETA: Sorry, you asked about Fleetwood Mac and I kinda went off on all kinds of tangents.

I wish Polly would do something like this:

gallery show of Stevie Nicks self-portraits (self-portraits --- isn't that way better than 'selfies' ?!?! haha)

$2000 for a print is a bit steep tho hahaha

Stevie Nicks addresses Don Henley baby rumors

Quote:
Singer Stevie Nicks has confirmed long-running rumors suggesting she was once pregnant with Don Henley’s baby.

The Fleetwood Mac star briefly dated the Eagles frontman during the late 1970s, after the end of her affair with bandmate Mick Fleetwood, and during their whirlwind romance, Nicks got pregnant child.

I'm confused, was this before or after Lindsey Buckingham?

Also John Peel? I wouldn't doubt it. No not THAT way.

Also, I misread the price of the poloroids as $200 and though MFG that's steep! For POLOROIDS. I know retro is cool but.. I wonder if they would be worth more if the color had run as it does with so many old poloroids.

after Lindsay Buckingham .... and after Mick Fleetwood ;)

sometimes I think she enjoys going along with these rumours and stories haha

reading up as I have over the past few months - MANY conflicting answers

but I guess that's to be expected in such a long career, too.... one wouldn't want to repeat themselves! ;) hahahaha

the John Peel doc was great - 'rock family tree' or some such thing...

I think some of the polaroids have been treated, not sure. no way in hell I'd pay that anyway hahaha
